Absolutely love the head strap, really big improvement over the supplied head strap and the battery means I can play much longer. Only downside is that I thought I had ordered the GeekVR Pro head strap but still happy none the less.
It's great. Fits super snug with the dial back feature. Grabbed an extra battery, played golf 8hrs with my nephew yesterday. Super comphy, great setup, batteries awesome. Err ya, you guys spent some time and figured it out. Bravo.
Hi, my name is Tom and I like to play games on my Oculus Quest 2. When Geek VR reached out to me and offered me a head strap in exchange for an honest review, I said sure. So, here's my honest review of the Geek VR head strap.
Once installed, my son and I played with it for hours. The comfort and adjustments are amazing. The two arms slide onto the Oculus, so you can move it back and forth depending upon what you need for comfort. The forehead pad is comfortable and distributes the weight of the headset across your head, taking the weight off the front of your face. The back of the head padding is also very comfortable and padded. The knob on the back of the head strap is for fine-tune adjustments for sizing and tightening while you're wearing it.
The head strap also has a unique feature - a white thing on the back of the head strap that is a counterbalance and a battery pack. It's held on by magnets and has sensors that click it in like a magnet. When you put the battery in, the energy goes down the cord, and you plug it into your Oculus. Now your Oculus is using all of the power in this battery to go ahead and charge itself, and you get another couple of hours of playtime. The battery pack comes out, so you can go ahead and buy multiple batteries and have them charged up while you're playing.
Another cool feature is that the battery will also recharge your phone. It's a regular battery pack that you would have on a travel or you used to recharge any kind of device, but this has actually been designed to fit in the back of the Geek VR headset or plug it off and recharge another object.
After a couple of hours of use, this is my go-to head strap now. It's easily adjustable, super comfortable, takes the weight off my face, distributes it across my head, and has a battery which is not only a battery pack but a removable battery pack which you can go ahead and buy again multiple batteries and you can sit and play, and in theory play you're probably be in VR for 10, 15, 20 hours a day which is probably not healthy. This is really a great headstrap for your Oculus Quest. I cannot recommend this enough my son and I both completely love it. My daughter has used it she likes it as well. And she can easily tightens it up all the way. It really is a very comfortable, very usable uh good looking head strap for the Oculus Quest 2. Highly recommended.
Been looking for a central rear adjustment knob for my Quest 2 headset for awhile now, even I already have the Meta's elite strap. And I was truly looking forward to trying this out to see if it is as easy as it looks.
The set comes in 2 parts - the main headband and a separate snap-on cushion for the back of the head. The whole headband snaps onto my Quest 2 easily once I’ve removed the old headband out. Literally a straight swap, without any issues or drama, and best of all, looks OEM!
The adjustment is dead simple and easy! Definitely worth the upgrade with this alone. The thick cushion over the forehead area is very comfortable. After some nudging and adjusting, the whole headset is pretty comfy and quite well balanced. Maybe a hair front heavy, but still much much better than before.
The battery design is awesome, it is gorgeous! With the battery it even becomes better. With the help of the battery, it is even more balanced and I don't feel any discomfort with increased weight. And the weight is not significantly increased so I don't feel worse with the battery. And the battery gives me extra 3 hours play time. If I got an extra battery, I can play anytime I want without waiting for charge.
Overall, I really like the upgraded headband. Works as advertised. It’s well put together. I just wish I had an second battery pack with the headband.
So so so comfortable!!! No more pressure on my forehead and face. No more getting out of my game after 20 min, because I have a headache. Now I can play until I feel like not playing anymore. No more head pressure. No more pain. No more constantly putting down my controllers to try and adjust the headset….again. None of that. This headset eliminates all the bad and leaves you with comfort. It’s amazing. I read great reviews and that’s why I bought it. (And Anything feels more comfortable than that) I already had an upgraded strap, and it wasn’t any more comfortable than the stock one. So this was going to be my 4th attempt at upgrading. Wow wow. I wish I found this one first. Way better than my kiwi ones that costs more. This one is easily adjustable between everyone in my family, unlike the other one. And it gives you extra playing time also! (I wanted one w battery. My other upgraded one had a battery in back also, but was noting like this one.) There is just one adjustable knob in the back. So easy to use. So comfortable to wear. It’s the best purchase to go with your quest2. And apart from that, the battery design is super, maybe the best you can find in the market. Now I can play without interrupt. I couldn’t play with out it anymore. I highly recommend.
